The post-gazette reports:
Mr. Miles, 18, who is charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest, said three undercover officers beat him when they mistook the bottle of soda he was carrying for a concealed weapon.
Let us count the ways in which this totalitarian fascist action violated this kids rights.
1. The 2nd Amendment prohibits all government from infringing on the right to bear arms. Thus, the very premise of this unjustified attack is unconstitutional.
2. The officers in question then used a torture device, otherwise known as a taser, to incapacitate Mr. Miles. Given that a taser shot is enough to drop a rabid tiger, that leaves us with some serious questions as to why they beat his face into a bloody pulp.
3. Even if Mr. Miles did run, was actually carrying a weapon, and did actually resist a pile of linebacker/police officers, I have trouble believing the force necessary to disarm, handcuff, and take Mr. Miles into custody required beating his face into a bloody pulp.
Unless he was carrying the gun in his teeth, beating his face seems like nothing more than brutal torture.
Let us not forget that Mr. Miles hurt NO ONE. He never threatened anyone. He never put anyone in danger. He wasn’t doing anything wrong at the time the officers decided to beat his face in. He committed no crime.
He was attacked purely out of the suspicion that he might be committing the victimless crime of exercising his 2nd amendment rights.
