Because the royal serfs in the UK have taken Orwellian logic to such insane heights, I have decided to honor them with their own category on my blog.
These people are so insane that nothing less will do.
I could literally dedicate my entire blog to nothing but UK police state Orwellian action.
For all things Orwell, check the “Orwellian UK” category.
I’ve also taken the time to add new “US Police State” and “CIA Douchebaggery” categories. The self-descriptive titles should be enough of an explanation.
Now, on with the latest in UK insanity:
A new government commercial currently running on one of Britain’s most popular radio stations is selling one thing – fear – by encouraging Londoners to report their neighbors as terrorists if they use cash, enjoy their privacy, or even close their curtains.
The advertisement, produced in conjunction with national radio outlet TallkSport, promotes the “anti-terrorist hotline” and encourages people to report individuals who don’t talk to their neighbors much, people who like to keep themselves to themselves, people who close their curtains, and people who don’t use credit cards.
“This may mean nothing, but together it could all add up to you having suspicions,” states the voice on the ad, before continuing “We all have a role to play in combating terrorism” (we’re all indentured stasi informants for the government).
I love it!
Use cash, GO TO JAIL!
The serfs in the UK hate freedom so much that the very notion someone might engage in anonymous commerce is grounds for terrism charges. I think its clear that if you use cash, you’re a criminal. Unfortunately, they leave gold and uncut gemstones out of the equation. Clearly if one was to barter for goods using these anonymous currencies, they must not only be terrists, but probably mass murdering rapists as well.
I have to complement the Orwell enforcers for proding the public to participate in enslaving themselves. You can’t have a true police state without the public being in constant fear of each other. As the article notes:
One common misconception about Nazi Germany was that the police state was solely a creation of the authorities and that the citizens were merely victims. On the contrary, Gestapo files show that 80% of all Gestapo investigations were started in response to information provided by denunciations by “ordinary” Germans.
Personally, I’m excited about the prospects here in Amerika for a green police made up of junior high school students that will report their parents for flushing the toilet after a number one.
A typical UK light pole:
