The great fascist state of California is being pressured to engage in freedom. I know, its a shocking state of events.
Supporters of Marijuana legalization have managed to collect the necessary signitures to get the initiative on the November ballot. They collected upwards of 500,000 signatures from every county in CA except Alpine.
Polls are showing a slim majority of voters would pass this measure. Ironically, that would make one of the most fascist states in the union the front-runner in a state’s rights vs. federal government show down.
Of course, if CA does legalize it, the Feds will still raid peoples houses, loot their property, and imprison them. The federal government has to keep pot illegal because the banking system is being propped up by the money laundering loot from the drug trade. Thus, they can’t legalize it at the federal level even if they wanted to.
The CA legalization measures being proposed are extremely broad. They don’t fully legalize it for mass distribution, but they make it possible to grow large amounts for personal use, which destroys the drug cartels monopoly.
- The initiative would allow adults 21 or older to possess up to an ounce for personal use.
- The initiative would also allow adults to grow up to 25 square feet of marijuana per residence or parcel.
- The measure, known as the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act, goes further, allowing cities and counties to adopt ordinances that would authorize the cultivation, transportation and sale of marijuana, which could be taxed to raise revenue.
What I find odd is that people are allowed to have 25 square feet of grow room, but the personal use amount is limited to 1 oz. A person could grow a pretty epic amount of weed in a 25 foot grow space. Figuring 2 feet per-plant yielding 1 oz each will get you 12 oz of weed a harvest (and I’m sure industrious growers could probably double those figures).
An oz. of weed is a pretty sizable amount. It would probably take a regular stoner about a month to blow through an oz. So a person could reasonably expect to pull a harvest every 4 months (less if they rotate clones on a cycle), so assuming the grower is also consuming his own product, he’s looking at an excess yield of 24 oz. annually on average – which equates to around $2400 wholesale or around $4000 street value, assuming prices don’t drop due to increased supply.
But getting back to that 1 oz. personal limit, as you can see, I’m not sure how they will work out what constitutes having a “personal use” amount vs. what constitutes a grow harvest. Since if I utilized the full 25 square feet allowed, I would obviously have more than an oz. at the end of the harvest.
- As a sidenote, I think this is the first time I’ve written about CA law and checked the “anti-fascist agitprop” category for my blog post.
