I took it upon myself to post my “War Is The Health Of The State” article on Free Republic.
Hilarity ensues.
They promptly altered the title and issued a ban.
What I find amusing about this are the large number of so-called “Christians” participating in this forum. It really takes some serious Orwellian doublethink to praise Jesus’s philosophy while at the same time mocking those who see peace as a better alternative to war.
I also find some humor in the fact that most people on free-republic consider themselves conservatives, while at the same time censoring or mocking speech that is anti-statist in nature.
Some comments
“I have a gun and I can defend myself from terrorists.”
Unless they fly a plane into you.
Or blow you up remotely without you knowing they’re there.
Fat lot of good a gun does against a remotely detonated bomb.
“If you support the tea party and what it represents, in order to be in agreement with your position, you must ultimately reject foreign wars where the sovereignty of the nation is not at stake.”
Fallacious statement, premise not supported.
Especially since you seem to rail against our current dustup with the Taliban, and their proxies in Iraq.
Terrorism doesn’t respect sovereignty, or borders, or beliefs.
It does not care whether you haven’t bothered them.
Make love, not war ZOT!
