At least that’s what our specious notions of left and right claim.
Walter Block explains why the notion of left and right is wrong.
You’ll love this.
Where I differ every-so-slightly from Block, is that I believe the political spectrum can be adequately described along one line. That line being defined by the amount of government involvement a particular political philosophy entails.
Since we can stipulate that government is an evil institution that acts with force against innocent people, we can say evil increases the more government exists. I see no distinction between evil, coercion, and government. This maxim holds true no matter how far down the spectrum one choses to go. Ultimately we see a direct correlation between the amount of State a society has and the amount of people needlessly killed.
