The good judge debates earmarks and social conservatism with Rand and Ron Paul.
On the earmark issue, I am with Ron on this one. Ron feels that earmarks are a duty of congress, to allocate how money from the budget should be spent.
Earmarks don’t actually add anything to the budget, they simply are a mandate that says how portions of the budget must be spent.
When one understands this, it becomes clear that it is better to have the criminal politicians allocate this money than the criminal executive branch bureaucrats – who have no accountability for the spending.
I’d much rather have politicians dictating where budgeted monies must be spent rather than the executive branch.
