I really think that if this measure passes, it will be the straw that breaks the camels back.
People are going to freaking riot over this measure if it passes. People will walk into a grocery store, realize that they can’t bag any products, and be fuming mad about it. I almost hope it passes just to see what kind of hell-storm the nanny staters bring down on themselves.

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — An effort to allow only reusable bags at Los Angeles grocery stores may sound like a political long-shot, but one city councilman thinks the public will eventually warm up to the initiative.
The measure introduced by City Councilman Paul Koretz would prohibit all single-use plastic and paper bags in L.A. supermarkets and would require stores to sell or provide complimentary reusable or fiber bags only or risk a fine.
Of course, if you don’t pay the fine, men with guns will eventually find you. And if you resist those men with guns, they will shoot you dead.
Unfortunately I don’t see this measure going anywhere, but it would be a real hoot to watch the protests break out when people realize the looters took their grocery bags.
I am willing to wager 100.00 dollars that at least one of the politicians proposing this ban either directly owns a company that produces canvas grocery bags or has a large stock holding of such a company.
