This all sounds well and good, but are not most major corporations also protected by private security and are they not some of the biggest thugs on the planet? Small-time PSO sounds all well and good, but the Corpstate employs killers and thugs as PSO, and they are generally above the law. Private Contractors (aka mercenaries) are actually just PSO, and they have no qualms about killing people in streets just to protect puppet-politicians.

I'm not in complete disagreement, I'm just wondering how many PSO can actually be counted on to be as benevolent about their jobs as the author of this article seems to be. Not that they could possibly be any worse than real police officers, but the legal ramifications are beyond me and need to be addressed before the entire nation goes private. Personally, I don't think it would make all that much diff in the long run unless real policy reforms were activated first.

For example, ending the $12 billion + waste of tax-payer money known as the drug war would be a good beginning, followed by "killing" the Neo-Nazi right-wing arm of thugs known as the DEA.
