FBI Warns of Threat from Anti-Government Extremists

Reuters reports:

(Reuters) – Anti-government extremists opposed to taxes and regulations pose a growing threat to local law enforcement officers in the United States, the FBI warned on Monday.

These extremists, sometimes known as “sovereign citizens,” believe they can live outside any type of government authority, FBI agents said at a news conference.

The extremists may refuse to pay taxes, defy government environmental regulations and believe the United States went bankrupt by going off the gold standard.

Routine encounters with police can turn violent “at the drop of a hat,” said Stuart McArthur, deputy assistant director in the FBI’s counterterrorism division.

“We thought it was important to increase the visibility of the threat with state and local law enforcement,” he said.

After snorting coffee out my nostrils upon reading this outrageous propaganda piece, I found the real fun to be reading the nearly 500 comments that were left by various readers.

A small sample:

This article is Brainwashing at its finest.

The only people i see performing illegal and “extremist” behavior are some characters in our government.

I guess you better arrest Ron Paul for wanting to abolish the FED and IRS and being able to understand basic math.

This article is the biggest load of crap I have read today. Thanks, Reuters, for violating reason.

Any time you read the word ‘extremist’, just substitute “anyone who disagrees with the government on any level of any aspect”…

That’s what they really mean.

This warning should be sent The President and Congress instead. Also, why not just say it – this has to do with Ron Paul supporters.

From where I’m standing, it looks more like citizens being worried about attacks from pro-government extremists.

Basically all of the comments follow the same vein.  I don’t think I saw a single pro-government comment out of the hundreds that were posted.

It gives me hope to see comments like these so I thought I’d share them with you.

Those comments are great. I love that more and more people are waking up by the day.

If the government isn’t broke then why does it borrow money? If the people are not sovereign then how do they contract? Inquiring minds want to know.

Yes, it does appear that we are waking up!  A shout out to and much love for my libertarian friends!
