General Mills: Inflation of Input Costs Averages 11% Year Over Year

First, here are the bullshit numbers put out by the criminal state.

From the BLS: CPI-U, US CITY AVERAGE, ALL ITEMS:

NSA
+0.4% in Feb 2012

SA
+0.4% in Feb 2012

NSA
+2.9% since Feb 2011

Now for the real data.

Zero Hedge reports:

General Mills came out Wednesday with their Q3 earnings, and what do you suppose was one of the top points they wanted to make to their investors? Just that they were experiencing significantly higher input costs year-over-year.

As a matter of fact, they say that YOY inflation input costs were actually higher by … 10%-11%

They say net sales grew 13%.  Whack off 11% of that growth because of price inflation.  Their net sales actually grew only 2%.
