160 acres is a lot. There’s plenty of room for people to live. Pop in the US is still relatively small in comparison to how much room there is and other 3rd world countries. Our population growth –babies, not immigration- “average” raises population only by .2% (that’s point 2) i believe, which is still stagnant growth. Europe is seeing a dwindling population right now.

Wealth is its own population control (not that amount of wealth is the number of babies, but as wealth and careers rise the need for, or time to have, children dwindles). That should be known to everyone, but people still think there’s going to be “resource wars,” not realizing the aggregate includes 3rd world countries without a proper market place. So, we have to get involved in shrinking population, be the savior of the global community, out of fear for Capitalism. There wouldn’t be any resource wars if we gave more opportunity to the ingenious amongst us.

I bet it wouldn’t be hard to get 50 evangelical ministers to sign a letter supporting stewardship of the Earth and sending that to Senator Inhofe. As for these folks who signed this letter to NASA, perhaps they would like to argue about the speed light while they are at it – that’s physics too.

I wonder if those urban developers still believe population is going to expand indefinitely. Gross scarcity is going to be the name of the game for a long time, with a fear of stepping all over our fellow man like a mother swine crushing the skull of her youth. I’m gonna hate living in these Mao complexes. Maybe they can install a fence to protect me from the scary outside world.
