One more reason to reject the state entirely.
You can’t count on any politician to actually abide by their own principles.
Obviously I will not be voting this election cycle, but if someone held a gun to my head and forced me to pull a lever, I’d probably vote for Obama. At least with Obama you get the devil you know. Nothing would change with either of them, so in the grand scheme of things, I suppose it doesn’t really matter one way or the other.
In a perverse way, we should be thankful to Rand for openly endorsing Romney. His endorsement is sure to create political dissolution for many people, which is a key step toward the acceptance of a voluntary society. I feel sorry for those liberty minded people who may have donated their hard earned money to this clown, thinking that he would stand against the outrageous nonsense of the establishment no matter what may come of it.
There was a time in my life where I would have accepted Rand’s endorsement as him simply playing the political game, working his way into a power position within the party where he could affect real change. I don’t see it that way now though. The political process is the process of violence against the innocent, which is something that should never be endorsed. Endorsing Romney is the same as endorsing war, theft, mass murder, debasement of the currency, etc.. Endorsing Romney is the same as if he endorsed Obama – there is no difference between the two! Thus, his endorsement disgusts me beyond the point of acceptance.
