Are my atoms therefore sentient?
If not, this system has properties NOT derived from my component party’s properties.

I am alive, but my atoms are not.

My Quaker parrots have green feathers; they have a limited number of colbalt blue flight feathers also. These use parallel bars of molecules spaced at visible light wavelengths to refine which wavelength they will reflect. This makes their floors rather iridescent looking. Those molecules are NOT a green or blue substance.
