Tu ne cede malis sed contra audentior ito. "Do not give in to evil but proceed ever more boldly against it".

Mises probably adopted this as his personal motto because he probably went through the same thing you are. Keep up the fight for true Liberty. If we don't, who will?

You know that life is just a state of mind correct? You can choose to think, well, good thoughts, or bad ones. You can be happy if you choose to be, it's a choice, just like everything else. Don't stop thinking, that's what statists want, doing that is giving into their demands. Remember, you've only have one life, why waste it with feeling bad?

Michael,
I can certainly empathize with you. I have come to similar conclusions myself. I see that you have been looking at some of the teachings of Eckhart Tolle. I believe that this is a positive step for you. The philosophy of Taoism has much to teach us about handling life trapped within this system of enforced slavery. The fact is that we create our experience of reality. There are over 6 billion people on the planet and most of them ar way worse off than you or I and yet they still live their life and try to find peace and happiness. I have long since given up trying to open the eyes of people who refuse to see what I believe is obvious. We are indeed slaves trapped in a system that seeks to make us accomplices in our own enslavement. However, I have found an outlet for my anger and frustration. The solution I believe is to have gratitude. Looking around you will have to admit that even those who live in abject poverty in this country is far better off than someone living in poverty in India or China. We are I suppose lucky that our enslavement has not been as bad as those in other countries. For that I am truly grateful. I also have learned the value of charity. I have found that it is much more rewarding to help others than it is to try to teach others about "what is really going on" I volunteer my time to help children, feed and clothe the poor and help others learn skills that will allow them to make make money for themselves and their families. This system cannot be maintained for much longer and its collapse is imminent. We can best help ourselves and others by quelling anger and helping those in need, by setting up networks for mutual help and benefit and by thinking thoughts of peace and healing.
