Promoting a political or ideological cause that is contrary to the interests of the state is terrorism, so sayeth the UK state.
Glenn Greenwald’s partner in crime, David Miranda, has been deemed a terrorist by British Authorities for his role in helping to transport the Snowden files.
“We assess that Miranda is knowingly carrying material the release of which would endanger people’s lives,” the document continued. “Additionally the disclosure, or threat of disclosure, is designed to influence a government and is made for the purpose of promoting a political or ideological cause. This therefore falls within the definition of terrorism…”
You see, if you have information that makes the state look bad, you’re a terrorist. You deserve water-boarding, extraordinary rendition, indefinite detention, summary execution by drone strike, exile, financial sanctions, etc.. etc.. etc.. How dare Miranda knowingly attempt to inform the public of their own government’s doings! How dare he! – Traitorous terrorist! Damn him to the nine hells!
Praise Mao, and may Stalin have mercy on your soul.
